What to Bring

Linens: (there is no linen service provided by RMSC or the Lowell Whiteman School)
Pillow(s)
Linens (single bed)
Blanket(s)
Towel(s)

Clothing: (all clothing should be chosen with climate, location and functionality in mind)
Light jacket and/or sweater
Long and short-sleeved shirts
Good walking shoes with thick traction soles
Thick socks for hiking
Shorts and jeans
Hat and sunglasses
Wristwatch and alarm clock
Bathrobe and shower shoes

Concert Attire: (no shorts, jeans, t-shirts, tennis shoes, or casual sandals)
Guys: Dress pants (khakis are fine), dress shirt (performance venues are often warm, so a light, short-sleeved shirt is best), belt, socks, dress shoes.
Gals: Dress pants, longer skirts, or dresses. Most performances involve sitting down and playing, so skirts or dresses should be below the knee or longer.

(No shorts, jeans, t-shirts, tennis shoes, or casual sandals.)

Music Items:
Your instrument (make sure case is securely closed)
Two bows (if possible) with lots of hair
One extra set of strings (used will be fine)
One folding music stand with your name on it (don't forget this very important item)
Metronome (with your name on it)
Music for private study (when in doubt, bring more not less)

solo piece(s) with piano accompaniment if required for performance
unaccompanied selection(s)
scales, etudes
orchestra excerpts
For cellists, bring a Rock Stop or similar device for your end pin
Dampits or equivalent instrument humidifier - check with your teacher or instrument maker

Outdoor Activity Items:
Light canteen or water bottle(s)
Backpack for hiking
Swimsuit and beach towel, if you like
Light poncho or rain gear that can be folded into a day pack or fanny pack
Bug repellant
Suntan lotion (SPF 15 or higher)

Personal Items:
Small container of laundry soap - may be purchased in town if you want to save space
Personal toiletries (soap in container, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
Medications

Extras:
Container with tight fitting lid if you want to keep snacks in your room
Granola bars or other sealed snack items for hikes
Camera
A good book or two
Playing cards
A small portable fan if you like
